| Conference Objective |
The objective of the conference is to provide a unique forum within India for the interchange of ideas among transportationresearchers, educators, managers, policymakers from India and all over the world, with the intention of covering all modes and sectors of transport (road, rail, air, and water; public and private; motorized and non-motorized) as well as all levels (urban, regional, inter-city, and rural transport) and for both passenger as well as freight movement, in India. Atthe same time, to also address the transportation related issues of; safety, efficiency, economic and social development, local and global environmental impact, energy, land-use, equity and access for the widest range of travelers with special needs etc.
Initially, this conference will be held biannually starting 2011; however the frequency may change as per the decision of Transportation Research Group of India (TRG) from time-to-time |

| Conference Partners |
1st CTRG will be organized by TRG in association with the
following partners:- |
• Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academies, USA
• Transport And Development Institute (T&DI), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
• Association of Transportation Professionals of Indian Origin (ATPIO)
The list of partners may increase at a later stage. |

| Format of the Conference |
| CTRG is a peer-reviewed conference and all submitted abstracts and papers will go through a peer-review process as per the standards set by TRG. The prospective authors are therefore encouraged to submit good quality papers to the journal. The conference will be held for four days. Parallel technical sessions on the listed themes will take place. The conference will also have several keynote and invited presentations spread across the conference days. Special sessions with confirmed/prospective partner societies/organizations like: TRB; T&DI, ASCE; ATPIO etc., will also be organized during the conference. Towards the end of the conference workshop/ interactive-discussion-format sessions will be held, where the conference delegates will be divided into smaller groups and the attendees ofeach group will discuss issues related to a specific theme or topic of the workshop and will collectivelydevelop a agenda for transportation research, education/training, collaboration etc., for the near future. |

| Conference Proceedings |
| All accepted papers of CTRG will be included in the conference CD Proceedings that will be released at the time of conference. Further, a selected number of high quality papers (based on the peer review process) will be published in the peer-reviewed journal of TRG named as “Journal of TransportationResearch Group of India (JTRG)”, which will be established very soon. |
